Wild Flowers and the Sunburst Chair lift at Sun Peaks.

Wild Flowers and the Sunburst Chair lift at Sun Peaks.

A Sun Peaks special day of geocaching had participants exploring the many Alpine trails. Big Feat & myself found 10 caches, saw a single deer on four occasions and spotted one large-looking black bear about 300 feet down the hill from us. Coincidentally, when we spotted the bear, we were on the hunt for the cache named Time For Lunch.

Many of the wild flowers were in bloom, the strawberries were flowering, the temperature was bearable (high 20s?), the flies were active, the fish jumping in Tod Lake, and the trails were well maintained.

Thanks to the organizers for arranging the event. Looking forward to a follow up.

Another great day of relying on fancy footwork to manoeuver the tricky inclines & declines that make up the Lac du Bois Grasslands. Cached in 10 times. Took nothing, but left behind a TRU Alumni pin, miniature billiard ball (#12), spiky mini orange ball, 2 oddball dice, Molson Canadian keychain bottle opener, TRU pen and what’s becoming my signature–leaving behind 2 cents, which you guessed it, is my 2 cents worth.
Caches hit: Ever Wonder Why, A Little More, Great View, Jumping Juniper, Winter Tracks 2, Orange Cap, A Shady Deal, Lichen n’ Moss, Last But Not Least, Spring View.

Thanks to Steve of Team Toyo for organizing another wondrous outing. Next time I’ll have to remember to bring more snacks.

Awww, how cute... Barbie's ammo box. Ummm, anyone seen Ken?

First Geo Cache expedition.T’was an eclectic bag of weather—sun, wind, hail, overcast—but great guides made it a great outing.

Thanks Team Toyo & to their faithful canine duo of Cody & Pepper.
